I had only been working in the Main Library at Saint Mary's College for about three weeks, when Brother Dennis handed me a key to the Library. He said "Since you live just a few minutes away, you would not be apt to be stopped by traffic or bad weather so you can open up at 8:00 a.m." I was a little surprised, but also flattered that they would trust me with a key when I had been there such a short time. However, I explained to Brother Dennis that if one of my children happened to be sick, I could not do it. He immediately responded with "If one of your children is sick, I will give you two phone numbers to call and I will take care of it". This is the type of kindness that one never forgets.
